When you love something so much and you mark it permanently on your skin. When the words mean so much when you and the literary ideas become one. From Tolkien to Ayn Rand, these tattoos reflect true Beauty and Love for Books.
1. Harry Potter book page stars
2. The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, J.R.R. Tolkien
3. The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
4. Harry Potter, Divergent, The Hunger Games, and Percy Jackson
5. To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee
6. The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky
“And in that moment I swear we were infinite.”
7. Annabel Lee, Edgar Allan Poe
“We loved with a love that was more than love.”
8. Where the Sidewalk Ends, Shel Silverstein
“If you-re a dreamer, come in!”
10. Hocus Pocus, Kurt Vonnegut
“How embarrassing to be human.”
11. His Dark Materials: The Amber Spyglass, Philip Pullman
“Every atom of me and every atom of you.”
12. The Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan

13. The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
14. Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand
15. Magical Thinking, Augusten Burroughs
“I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.”
The first one is cute, but on the books, the stars have different sizes. The tattoo stars are all the same size.
So, cute, but not a good job.

A grand job! How clever it is to use the ornaments of the pages, rather than a literary device. Who care about the sizes of the stars – which in all likelihood varies by edition, language and version anyway.

I have an iconic wrench growing from leaves from Robert Pirsig’s “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” tattooed on my left arm – the only tattoo I would ever consider getting.
