10 Authors Who Rocked My World

I want to take a moment and do a little shout-out to some of the authors I only recently discovered (in the past six months or so, even though I’m still reading some of them) and that literally rocked my (bookish) world.

These authors made me fall in love with their books in such a deep manner that I will most likely read every single thing they’ll ever publish, or have published before the book that made me fall in love with their work.

Their books were not just good, but also so important for the time we will live in and they taught me so much about beauty and tolerance, love and hate – their ideas followed me long after I’ve finished their books, and very often they showed me intricacies of other cultures I/ve never knew before.

I come from a very, very small country in Europe, and my country had its fair share of problems, wars, dispute, hate, intolerance, and also class/race/sex inequality. But my little bubble in this world is still my little bubble, and these books were my window. They still are. I’m grateful to these authors for pulling me into diverse worlds of wonderful and often painful, but also valuable stories I will never forget.

So here I go:

1. Mira T. Lee (Everything Here is Beautiful)

Honorary mention:
Kristian Novak (Ciganin, ali najljepši) – a Croatian author who blew me away with his incredible writing, and I really hope his work will get translated in English ASAP

Please, share the names of the authors that you recently discovered (or not so recently) who touched you in a similar way.
