About Us

Hello, Beautiful Readers!

I am happy to present the blog version of a very popular Facebook page – Books Rock My World!

For years now my friends (from all over the world) and I brought fun, book inspired content to our followers, building a community of readers. This blog is one step more in furthering our attempts to better and thrive! Hopefully with time this blog will grow in its width and appetites.

Thank you for being a part of this story!

  1. Hello, I’m a disabled Veteran and due to my injuries I’m basically housebound and the only time I’m able to leave the house is to go to doctors appts. I love to read any and all books, history, military, different faiths and religious practices, military history, any and all college type textbooks and/or any text-books that have anything to do with school, anything to do with art, but my favorite by far is anything to do with philosophy! Books help me take my mind off of all the pain I’m in, and now since I can’t work and my limited income I’m forced to ask for help from people or family to buy me books but they can’t afford much either or they out-right tell me no, so I’m forced to ask people like you for help. I so very much want to read I enjoy it so much that I can read anywhere from 4 to 8 books a week I read non-stop, it’s my only out-let for all the pain I’m in and it is according to my therapist, it’s the only thing next to medicine that seems to work, so if there is anyway can you help me? Maybe you could point me in the right direction to get what I need, I would be forever in your debt, thank you!!

    1. Hi Joseph, if you’re still able to catch an answer. I did some searching online for places that give out books and found a few ideas for you. Most charities are aimed at children, but one called Milk & Bookies might be open to sending books to an adult. Their website is http://www.milkandbookies.org/about/. Depending on where you live, your local library might be able to set up something where they drop off free books for you. It’s a shot in the dark too, but the if you have a local VFW or know someone at the VA who’s willing to put in some extra time they might be able to round up book donations for you. Donation town is an organization that arranges home pick up of donations for Veterans, maybe they could arrange to pick up some books and send them your way. http://donationtown.org/charity/veterans/
      Good luck Joseph!
